Ms. White's middle school social studies students are begining a unit on the Great Depression. Loads of library books sent to their classroom to help them out.
Mrs. Lauria's 11th grade English Language Arts students returned to the library to explore how novels can have real-life relevance. They explored themes found in To Kill a KockingBird and searched for articles using full-text library databases related to them.
Today, Mrs. Lauria's 10th grade ELA class visited the library to look for news articles about surviving disasters. The lesson was lead by Ms. Lamanna, a student teacher, and Mr. Dutcher illustrated the need to evaluate Web pages before introducing the students to the Custom Newspapers full-text database.
Several times this week, students in Middle School Home and Careers classes visited the library to use the computers and interactive web sites to learn about the impact of the foods they eat on their nutrition and diet.
